Upgrade MySQL versions for portable Linux and Windows

Description

Current version MySQL embedded in the portable versions (Linux and Windows) is 5.4.X

Need to upgrade to newer version or to replace with other DBMS (e.g. MariaDB MySQL is still the DMBS used) and to test compliance with scripts for DB building and update the GitHub Actions build.

More info in the comments.

Yes, all the software version references have been updated in the admin manual.

MariaDb mention was just an option, SQLite is mentioned only in the comments as another solution for the portable subsequent to this one.

This issue is in status, which means that only the documentation is missing. Maybe we just need to updated the description to make clear the advancements….

Where the Admin Manual has been updated yet? Maybe this ?

This issue is not clear anymore. We upgrade mysql to version 5.7 already and the Admin Manual has been updated consequently. Here we mention MariaDb and also a SQLlite solution; what are the plans ?

I totally agree with the idea of using a file-based database like sqlite. I was starting to review the OH.sh run script (which in my opinion needs quaite a lot of work, especially on the mysql part), and using sqlite would basically solve all the issues (TCP ports, startup / shutdown of the service, backup and restore, etc.).

I can contribuite by testing the solution / adapting the scripts. Please let me know in case you decide to proceed on this topic.
